Rahel Solomon is a Sudanese-American television journalist currently serving as the host of CNN’s 2025 program Early Start. In addition to her anchoring role, she works as a business reporter for CNN, covering economic and financial news. Prior, she worked as a general assignment news anchor at CNBC.

After completing her studies, Solomon began her career as a multimedia journalist at WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia. In January 2014, she moved to Denver, Colorado, where she joined CBS affiliate KCNC-TV as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Her work there earned her recognition as the 2015 Broadcast Journalist of the Year from the Colorado Association of Black Journalists.

From 2017 to 2019, Solomon served as the morning anchor at KYW-TV in Philadelphia before departing the station to take on a reporting role at CNBC. In April 2022, she joined CNN, continuing to expand her national journalism career.
