She later worked for HuffPost Live, the Huffington Post’s streaming network, as a host and producer. She had also been on CNN several times. Huntsman served as a media advisor and surrogate for her father’s 2012 presidential campaign, during which she and her sisters were profiled by The New Yorker, GQ, and BuzzFeed. Huntsman appeared on ABC News in Washington, D.C., and Good Morning America in New York City as a political pundit at the same time.
Huntsman was profiled on ABC News’ “Five Questions,” a segment of This Week with George Stephanopoulos, in October 2012. She was interviewed by Brian Williams on Rock Center in August 2012 on Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign and her own relationship with the Mormon faith. She previously worked for Burson-Marsteller, an international public relations agency.
She was ranked number 26 on the Forbes 30 under 30 lists of up-and-coming journalists in 2013. Huntsman joined MSNBC’s The Cycle in July 2013, filling a space left by S.E. Cupp’s departure. After Ari Melber, Huntsman was the show’s second replacement host. Huntsman subsequently joined Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Meghan McCain on the long-running ABC chat show The View as a co-host, commencing on the 22nd-season premiere on September 4, 2018. Huntsman announced her departure from The View after two seasons in January 2020 to work as a senior advisor for her father’s 2020 Utah governor election campaign; she made her farewell appearance as a co-host on the January 17 edition. Her father lost the Republican governor primary in Utah in 2020.
She aimed to bring conservative perspectives to the show, denying that her ties to the Huntsman family had anything to do with her getting the job, claiming that she “went through the same audition procedure as anyone else” against a field of hundreds of applicants. The Cycle was canceled by MSNBC in July 2015, and Huntsman left the network as a result.
Huntsman joined Fox News Channel as a general assignment reporter in October 2015. She reported on the day’s events on the network’s daytime and primetime shows.
