After attaining her degree, Harris began her career working with LA weekly as a freelance business writer. She did her internship at KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. After completing her training, she proceeded to work with WNCT-TV as a reporter in Greenville, North Carolina.

She worked as an anchor in Fox News from 2011 to 2017, where she anchored the Fox Report Weekend. Some of the stories she covered include the 2018 Midterm Election, the AIDS pandemic in South Africa and the 9/11 attacks.
