Abby Huntsman is a well-known American journalist and television personality, and she happens to be the daughter of former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. and Mary Kaye Huntsman. She first caught the public’s eye as a host on MSNBC and NBC News, later taking on the role of a general assignment reporter for Fox News Channel and co-hosting Fox & Friends Weekend. From September 2018 to January 2020, she was one of the co-hosts on ABC’s talk show, The View.
Huntsman kicked off her television career at just 16 years old, starting with a behind-the-scenes gig at Good Morning America. It was such a tough experience that she briefly thought about stepping away from the industry entirely. While studying at the University of Pennsylvania, she interned with Diane Sawyer, who left a lasting impression on her with her professionalism and charisma on screen.
She then became a host and producer for HuffPost Live, the streaming arm of HuffPost, and made regular appearances on CNN. In 2012, Huntsman took on the role of media advisor and surrogate for her father’s presidential campaign, which led to her and her sisters being featured in The New Yorker, GQ, and BuzzFeed. She also served as a political commentator for ABC News in Washington, D.C., and on Good Morning America in New York City.
Before joining MSNBC’s The Cycle in July 2013, where she filled a panelist spot left by S. E. Cupp, Huntsman worked at the international public relations firm Burson-Marsteller. In October 2015, she made the switch to Fox News as a general assignment reporter, and by December 2016, she was co-hosting Fox & Friends Weekend until August 2018.
