Chris Wallace is an American broadcast journalist whose career spans more than six decades. Over the years, he has worked as a correspondent, moderator, and anchor for CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox News, and CNN. In 2018, he was named one of America’s most trusted television news anchors. His distinguished career has been recognized with numerous honors, including three Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award, a George Polk Award, and the duPont–Columbia University Silver Baton Award.
After graduating from Harvard University, Wallace began his journalism career as a national reporter for The Boston Globe. He later transitioned to broadcast news at NBC, where he worked from 1975 to 1988. During his tenure at NBC, he served as a White House correspondent, anchored NBC Nightly News on Sundays during multiple periods, and moderated Meet the Press from 1987 to 1988. He is the only journalist to have moderated more than one major American Sunday political talk show.
Wallace then joined ABC News, where he worked from 1989 to 2003 as an anchor for Primetime Thursday and Nightline. In 2003, he moved to Fox News, where he hosted Fox News Sunday until 2021. While at Fox, he conducted high-profile interviews with world leaders and political figures including Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Vladimir Putin. He made history in 2016 by becoming the first Fox News journalist to moderate a U.S. presidential debate, overseeing the debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, and later returned to moderate the 2020 debate between Trump and Joe Biden.
In 2021, Wallace left Fox News and joined CNN. There, he hosted the interview series Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace? from 2022 to 2024 and later anchored The Chris Wallace Show from 2023 to 2024. In November 2024, Wallace departed CNN following the expiration of his three-year contract.

Discovery announced the shutdown of CNN+, which officially ended on April 28. However, the show was later revived and relaunched on CNN and HBO Max.
