Eric Bolling Career

Bolling has been a strong and ardent admirer of Donald Trump, has come out in support of him since his presidential campaign began in 2015. About ten years before Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Trump and Bolling met on the set of The Apprentice; the two were introduced by a common acquaintance, Mark Burnett, and developed close ties.

Bolling was considered by Trump for a position in the US Department of Commerce in November 2016, after Trump’s election but before his inauguration, and the following month, Bolling described himself as “lucky enough to have a tight relationship with the incoming government.” Bolling’s ascension to anchor his own Fox News show, which began in early May 2017, was viewed as a success for the Trump administration. During Trump’s administration, Bolling interviewed him more than six times. In 2019, Bolling took over as presenter of America This Week, a Sunday morning talk show produced by Sinclair Broadcast Group and broadcast on their stations. Bolling encouraged Trump’s campaign to undermine mail-in voting at Sinclair, and he falsely claimed that mail-in voting was prone to fraud.

Bolling did an interview with a dubious researcher featured in the video Plandemic for America This Week in 2020. Dr. Anthony Fauci, the US chief infectious disease scientist, was said to have “created” COVID-19 in the video. After public protest over intentions to run the segment on local Sinclair stations, Sinclair postponed it to “rework” it before removing it entirely two days later. Sinclair announced the show’s discontinuation in January 2021.
