Heidi joined currently serves as an evening meteorologist, lifestyle show at Nextar Broadcasting, KBLK News in Lubbock, Texas since June 2016. At KBLK, she delivers daily on-air presentations every weekday evening on a major television station in the South Plains. She led the creation of the “Weather-Ready Nation Report” franchise in order to keep the residents of West Texas enlightened on all the different weather hazards and how to keep safe while continuously building a strong relationship with the Lubbock National Weather Service. She also produced, edited and hosted “READY For Threatening Skies”, a sponsored 30-minute Severe Weather Special program that is a part of the Weather-Ready Nation Brand.
Waggoner also conducts live interviews and presents news content on KLBK News and Trends & Friends, KLBK’s Lifestyle show. In July 2018 following the installation of the new weather system, Hedi was the main content creator for the KLBK Weather Department by building 75% of the graphics. Since August 2018, she forecasts and delivers on-air weather presentations remotely for the ABC and FOX stations in Midland, TX while they are short meteorologists.
Heidi also aids in recruitment and oversees the training of new Weather Department hires and developed a new-hire training manual to aid in onboarding.
