Janice Allen Biography
Janice Allen is an Emmy-nominated, award-winning journalist currently serving as the morning news anchor on FOX 17 News in Grand Rapids, Michigan, weekdays from 7–10 a.m. Since 2011, Janice has been the face of FOX 17’s Emmy-winning franchise “Pay it Forward,” which highlights uplifting and positive stories across West Michigan.
Her television career began just two weeks after graduating, when she accepted a reporter position in Terre Haute, Indiana. She later worked in Fort Wayne, Indiana, before joining FOX 17 News in West Michigan in 2010.
Beyond her work on-air, Allen is actively involved in the community. She has collaborated with organizations such as March of Dimes, Make-A-Wish Michigan, and 70×7 Life Recovery, and currently serves on the board of Lori’s Voice, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children with special needs.
Janice holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Broadcast Journalism and Communication Studies from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.
