Jonathan Scott Family

Scott’s fraternal twin brother lives in Vancouver, BC. He has an older brother, JD, and is Jim and Joanne Scott’s second child. Jim traveled from Scotland to Canada as a teenager to pursue his aspirations of becoming a cowboy, as he had seen on television. Until the late 1970s, he worked in the film industry as an actor, stuntman, and assistant director. Around that time, he decided to concentrate on raising his family, and he and his wife moved to a horse farm in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Joanne continued her profession as a paralegal in downtown Vancouver, while James worked as a youth counselor. Their father urged the twins to get careers on their seventh birthday.

They went through the classified advertisements for help, but in the end, they and their mother founded JAM (for Jon, Andrew, and Mom), a company that makes nylon-wrapped clothing hangers. They recounted selling them door to house in interviews, eventually selling thousands to a woman who peddled American memorabilia in Japan.

James would frequently refurbish the family’s properties and pay the boys as young as eight years old to build and repair fences, decks, and barns. The twins used to alter the furniture in their family’s home even as children. Jonathan and his father went to Alberta at the age of 14, where they began construction on their parents’ dream home. He went there for his second year. During this time, he adopted the stage name Jonathan Silver and began using it personally as well. Jonathan returned to Maple Ridge to finish high school after his grades deteriorated, returning to Alberta during school holidays with his family and best friend Pedro to assist in the building.

Jonathan Scott Wife

Scott has two tiny dogs named Gracie and Stewie, whom he affectionately refers to as his “babies.” In an interview with People, he stated that he intended to have children before the age of 45 and that if he is not in a relationship, he would adopt.

Jonathan stated he grew despondent during the filming of the first season of Property Brothers and didn’t socialize for over six months, which Drew helped him get through. The twins, along with their brother JD, have a “no B.S.” policy, which means that when anything bothers them, they are always honest with each other and then try to move on; they credit this with helping them get along.

Scott participated in a political ad in Nevada promoting a constitutional amendment that would have deregulated the state’s energy industry. Scott married his longtime fiancĂ©e Kelsy Ully, a WestJet crew planner, in the summer of 2007. Her model/waitress employment at a day club ruined their relationship once they moved to Las Vegas, he later wrote. They split up in 2010 and divorced later that year. He dated Jacinta Kuznetsov, a Canadian radio producer, from 2016 to April 2018.
