He is best known for hosting The Daily Show, the American late-night talk and satirical news program on Comedy Central, from 2015 to 2022. Throughout his career, Noah has earned multiple accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2017 and 2018, The Hollywood Reporter named him one of “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media,” and in 2018, Time magazine listed him among the 100 most influential people in the world.
Born in Johannesburg, Noah launched his career in South Africa in 2008, taking on various hosting roles with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). Noah appeared in an episode of the South African soap opera Isidingo in 2002. Later, on Gauteng’s leading youth radio station, YFM, he hosted his own radio show Noah’s Ark. He gave up his radio show and acting career to focus on comedy, and has worked with South African comedians such as David Kau, Kagiso Lediga, Riaad Moosa, Darren Simpson, Marc Lottering, Barry Hilton, and Nik Rabinowitz, as well as international comedians such as Paul Rodriguez, Carl Barron, Dan Ilic, and Paul Zerdin, and as the opening act for American comedian Gabriel Iglesias on his South African tour in November 2007.
