Following graduation, he spent nearly two years working for his hometown station in Eugene, KVAL, where he covered prep sports as well as Oregon and Oregon State athletics. His favorite memory of his time in Oregon is the two seasons he spent traveling to different stadiums on the west coast to cover Beaver football games on Saturdays.
His most memorable work trips at WAFB included spending 12 days in Oregon covering the NCAA Baseball Corvallis Regional and the final NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field, as well as spending 13 days in Omaha, Nebraska covering the Tigers’ run to the College World Series final.
Craig is eager to experience all that the Hampton Roads region has to offer in terms of sports and lifestyle now that he is at WAVY. He regularly attends sporting events in the evenings and the gym in the mornings. Working on a new story every day, covering sporting events, and sharing the stories of local residents are his favorite aspects of his job.
Following his time at KVAL, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he turned his love of health into a career, working full-time as a personal trainer and health coach in the city that gave birth to the movement for a healthy, active lifestyle.
In September 2016, the desire to work in broadcasting again led him to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he spent a little over four years at WAFB-TV covering prep sports, Southern University, LSU, and the New Orleans Saints. He has wonderful memories of his time in the Pelican state, where he was constantly surrounded by southern culture.
