Bila earned a B.A. in Spanish and a minor in Business from Wagner College, where she was valedictorian of her class. She received a Master of Arts in Spanish literature from Columbia University before dabbling in academia, business, and the performing arts. She’s worked as a marketing associate for a multinational firm, as a teacher and academic dean at a private New York City K-12 school, and as a cocktail waitress in a Manhattan lounge with an excessive number of steps. She has instructed middle school, high school, and college students in Spanish, Creative Writing, and Improvisation. She also studied acting, singing, and dance at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, and worked on stage and screen for a short period, which she wishes she had spent more time on.

It’s an autobiographical account of her experiences as a conservative living and teaching in Manhattan during the 2008 presidential election in the United States. HarperCollins published her second book, #DONOTDISTURB: How I Ghosted My Cell Phone to Take Back My Life, in 2018.

Bila’s online writing caught the attention of the media in 2010, and she began appearing on MSNBC, Fox News, CNBC, and national radio stations to debate politics, education, and pop culture. In 2011, she published Outnumbered, a collection of journal entries packed with anecdotes about teaching in Manhattan during the 2008 presidential election. Glenn Beck appointed her as a frequent panelist on GBTV’s Real News in 2012. She joined Fox News as a network contributor the following year.
Bila co-hosted Outnumbered and The Five on Fox News and guest-hosted Red Eye as a Fox News contributor. She began giving talks at colleges and festivals across the country. She began guest co-hosting Season 19 of ABC’s The View in 2016, while still at Fox News. During The View’s record 20th season, she was cast as a permanent co-host and received two Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host. In the summer of 2017, Bila hosted a Lifetime special called Abby Tells All.
Bila launched #DoNotDisturb: How I Ghosted My Cell Phone to Take Back My Life (Harper) the next year and went on a book tour in New York and Los Angeles, appearing on NBC’s Today, ABC’s The View and GMA, Hallmark’s Home & Family, and a variety of cable news, digital, and local news programs. She was hired co-host of Fox and Friends Weekend in April of 2019, a position she held until May of 2021.
