Thompson worked as a production assistant for GMTV on a research and production project after graduation, before joining Sky Sports in January 2001. Since then, she has contributed to Sky’s coverage of major athletic events such as the US Open Tennis and the A1 Grand Prix, Grand Prix Masters, Speedway World Cup, Race of Champions, America’s Cup, and the 2011 Wimbledon Championships. She was a broadcaster on Sky Sports News, where she was most famous for her show Afternoon Report, which she hosted until December 29, 2011.
