Lou Dobbs Immigration

Dobbs has been outspoken in his opposition to both illegal immigration and foreign worker programs such as the H-1B visa and guest worker programs. Dobbs’ show has made factually incorrect claims, such as claiming that illegal immigrants brought 7,000 new cases of leprosy to the United States in three years when the timeframe was thirty years. Dobbs’ segments on illegal immigration were dubbed “all that hot air” by Hillary Clinton. In March 2009, Dobbs stated that there should be no St. Patrick’s Day and that the United States needed a “rational, effective humane immigration policy.” The Nation published an article in October 2010 detailing undocumented workers who had worked on Dobbs’ personal properties. Dobbs falsely claimed in November 2018 that “many” undocumented immigrants voted in the 2018 midterm elections.

Dobbs sparked controversy in July 2009 when he was the only mainstream news anchor to give the birther theory airtime.
